bhārata — O descendant of Bharata;  sarvasya — everyone’s;  śraddhā — faith;  bhavati — is;  sattva-anurūpā — according to their individual psychological make-up;  ayam — this;  puruṣaḥ — empirical self;  śraddhā-mayaḥ — [is in fact] a by-product of faith [śraddhā-vikāra];  yaḥ — [therefore] one who [demonstrates];  yat-śraddhaḥ — whatever faith;  saḥ — he;  saḥ eva — [is] exactly of that faith.

Translation

O descendant of Bharata, everyone’s faith is according to their individual psychological make-up. The empirical self is in fact a by-product of faith. Therefore, whatever faith a person demonstrates is exactly the faith with which he is endowed.
