BG 18.7
नियतस्य तु सन्न्यासः कर्मणो नोपपद्यते ।
मोहात्तस्य परित्यागस्तामसः परिकीर्तितः ॥

niyatasya tu sannyāsaḥ karmaṇo nopapadyate
mohāt tasya parityāgas tāmasaḥ parikīrtitaḥ

Word-for-word meanings
sannyāsaḥ — renunciation; niyatasya — of prescribed; karmaṇaḥ — duty; tu — however; na upapadyate — is not appropriate; parityāgaḥ — renunciation; tasya — of it; mohāt — out of delusion; parikīrtitaḥ — is stated; tāmasaḥ — to be an act of tamas.
Translation
The renunciation of prescribed duty, however, is inappropriate. To renounce it out of delusion is stated to be an act of tamas.
