BG 2.8
न हि प्रपश्यामि ममापनुद्याद्यच्छोकमुच्छोषणमिन्द्रियाणाम् ।
अवाप्य भूमावसपत्नमृद्धं राज्यं सुराणामपि चाधिपत्यम् ॥

na hi prapaśyāmi mamāpanudyād
yac chokam ucchoṣaṇam indriyāṇām
avāpya bhūmāv asapatnam ṛddhaṁ
rājyaṁ surāṇām api cādhipatyam
yac chokam ucchoṣaṇam indriyāṇām
avāpya bhūmāv asapatnam ṛddhaṁ
rājyaṁ surāṇām api cādhipatyam
Word-for-word meanings
avāpya — [even if] obtaining; asapatnam — an unrivalled; ṛddham — [and] prosperous; rājyam — kingdom; bhūmau — on earth; ca — and; api — even; ādhipatyam — sovereignty; surāṇām — over the gods; na hi prapaśyāmi — I cannot at all see; yat — [that] which; apanudyāt — could drive away; śokam — this grief; ucchoṣaṇam — [which is] drying up or afflicting; mama — my; indriyāṇām — senses.
Translation
Indeed, even if we obtain an unrivalled and prosperous kingdom on this earth and even sovereignty over the suras (gods), I cannot at all see that which might drive away this grief which is afflicting my senses.
